The Writer Beware site “Forum Rules” states: ” . . you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.” You would think that the moderators of this forum would monitor this and abide by their own standards . . . and, not actively participate in it. However, we’ve recently discovered numerous sexually-oriented postings that involve several of the site’s own principals, including James D. MacDonald & Victoria Strauss.
Do we really care if Victoria Strauss‘ boobs are real?
And, what’s up with James D. MacDonald and the “pretty young nurse’s aide”? Until Mr. MacDonald explains this . . . we wouldn’t recommend sending your daughters to “Uncle Jim’s” seminars to bone up on their writing skills. There’s an open door here “Uncle Jim” (James D. Macdonald). Your comments are certainly welcome. Silence? That speaks for itself. (Click on “Uncle Jim” [James D. Macdonald] to erect further.)
Come on “watch dogs,” you’ve held yourselves up to a higher standard. You seem to be o.k. with policing everyone else. It’s time to enforce your own polices and play by your own rules. Who watches the “watch-dogs” when they cannot watch themselves?
“In relation to a writer, most readers believe in the Double Standard: they may be unfaithful to him as often as they like, but he must never, never be unfaithful to them.” – W.H. Auden
