“Fuck you, obnoxious chat sidebar that pops up repeatedly and randomly for no apparent reason. You have only made me more determined never, ever to use you.”
In an apparent outrage regarding an internet pop-up, Victoria Strauss posted the above quote (Yes, that’s a “Fuck You” from Victoria Strauss) on her Facebook page on July 9, 2011. Victoria Strauss’ F-Bomb was widely applauded by all of the normal flying monkeys. Is this the same Victoria Strauss that stated: “Professionalism seems to be in increasingly short supply these days”? Piping in on this complete self-righteous arrogance was Ann “A.C.” Crispin:
“Victoria, shhhh! You are putting a dent in the public perception that you are a saintly creature, the Mary Magdalen [sic] of Writers, protecting them from demons in the form of scam agents and publishers! <wink>”
We’re sure that there are some individuals (a.k.a flying monkeys) that have placed these two on pedestals as heroes. However, as we’ve come to learn, Victoria Strauss is neither a “saintly creature” nor “Mary Magdalen” for writers (click here). As the two individuals responsible for Writer Beware™, both Victoria Strauss and Ann “A.C.” Crispin have perpetrated lies against some publishers, agents and publishing industry specialists. (Please see our coverage of the American Book Publishing scandal and Victoria Strauss’ lies; click here.) Moreover, they (Victoria Strauss and Ann “A.C.” Crispin) continue to do so.
This latest exchange demonstrates the complete arrogance of Victoria Strauss and Ann “A.C.” Crispin.  Do you get the feeling that Victoria Strauss and Ann “A.C.” Crispin feel that they are above us? More and more these “watchdogs” continue to insult all of us in the publishing industry. Is it really OK for Victoria Strauss to drop F-Bombs and have fellow publishing industry “watchdog” Ann “A.C.” Crispin demonstrate their arrogance further? Is it OK for Victoria Strauss to publicly yell “Fuck You” and for Ann “A.C.” Crispin to dismiss it as OK? These are the people that claim to have your best interest at hand. Really?
Our “public perception” of Victoria Strauss and Ann “A.C.” Crispin (author of Pirates Of The Caribbean: Price Of Freedom) will not change until they both come forward and tell the truth regarding American Book Publishing (click here). Ann “A.C.” Crispin’s books and especially the Pirates Of The Caribbean: Price Of Freedom will continue to be boycotted (watch for protest information) until they (Victoria Strauss and Ann “A.C.” Crispin) can come clean and admit that they have lied.
Victoria Strauss and Ann “A.C.” Crispin you have once again offended the publishing community that you claim to serve. Your arrogance and pompousness continue to inflate your egos and deflate the confidence of those that look up to you. Your flagrant vulgarity and the tag-team acquiescence will not continue to win followers; yes, it is eroding thanks to The Write Agenda. Moreover, your lagging Amazon Sales Ranking performance illustrates that your self-promotion strategies are not fruitful.
Victoria Strauss and Ann “A.C.” Crispin, you are despicable!  Yes, Ann “A.C.” Crispin, public perception is everything and you and Victoria Strauss continue to squander the perception of Writer Beware™ in the face of authors, prospective authors and others in the publishing industry. This is exactly what turns “watchdogs” into “weinerdogs” (click here).
Hand-in-hand, with the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) on their back, Victoria Strauss and Ann “A.C.” Crispin continue to wave their middle fingers in the face of the publishing industry. Wake up people . . . this is arrogance. Offended? You should be.
